About lazy-bunny.com
lazy-bunny.com has been acting as my illustration portfolio and project center since 2003. It started life when I became interested in webdesign and wanted somewhere were I could experiment and ask for help with my designs online, and eventually grew to become what it is today. Hiccup the blue rabbit, lazy-bunnys mascot, is a character of mine created for a Children's book I wrote for my cousins that I hope to publish one day.
The future of lazy-bunny
While lazy-bunny.com has served me well over the years, I actually have plans to make it much bigger than it is. Story telling is my true passion and my goal is to create an online illustration community, where artists of all mediums combine their talents to create wonderful stories. The first step in this journey is currently underway and to reveal it would spoil a perfectly good suprise... Eventually, lazy-bunny.com will not be enough. Eventually, I see a lazy bunny studios...
About Me
Hello, I'm Sarah, I'm 22 years old and Im going to be an astrounaut! Well, actually, Im going to be an illustrator, but hey, I sounded cool for a minute there, didn't I?
The past
I was first introduced to drawing in an art class in School, and since then I've always entertained myself by creating my own characters. I was always popular with my invisible friends, so it was nice to be able to see them on paper instead! I drew these guys for years, and then got incredibly inspired by Japanese Manga which I became hooked on for a long time. It was around then that I decided that I wanted to draw professionally, but was too terrified to actually do anything about it! So instead I concentrated on writing, and drawing as a hobby.
Then I discovered the Edge Chronicles, written by Paul Stewert and Chris Riddell, and I discovered the wonders of combining the written word with my own illustration and thus, the dream was born!
The present
I'm currently taking a Children's Illustration course with the London Art College and I love it! It's just the right amount of challenging and fun! I'm also a huge music enthusiast, more of a player than a listener though and when I have enough free time you can hear me play my Saxophone. I haven't been playing long so I feel bad for the neighbours... Though I've been playing Piano for as long as I can remember, so they probably appreciate that more :)
The Future
Eventually, when I get confident enough to actually publish anything, I'll be writing and illustrating a series of Children's books from the ages of 5 and up. I have a number of story ideas, most of which are in the planning stages but are all stored in my trusty laptop. I'm also planning on writing a handful of scripts for Children's TV and film, but that's a little further along the line...
