Projects

What are my projects?

Throughout the course of my life, I have been taking part in a variety of projects. I define a project as either a large community based activety that is working towards a goal, or a personal project that will have taken some time to complete. This page is a portal to all of the projects across the internet that I have taken part in, or been affiliated with in some way.

Artists Advice
Artists Advice is a new comic I'm creating about artists and random troubles they might get into along the way. The first comic is called "Artists Block" and explains how to get rid of this annoying problem. Unfortunatly, the advice is completely illogical and probably wouldn't help anyone in a million years, but its the thought that counts and thats what I'm sticking to!

Role: Entire project.

Hiccup Vs...
Hiccup Vs is a short series of comics that I created early in 2007 starring Hiccup, Mr Penguin and Beanie (A.K.A Mr. Purple). This was my first real attempt at comic strips, as is clear in the severe mess of the comic, but I really enjoyed the whole process and the character interaction between Hiccup and Beanie always got good feedback. Beanie was based off my then-boyfriend Sanj who helped write some of the comics behind the scenes. The comic is about Hiccup going about her daily life, finding little challenges and tackling them in her own, unique way!

Role: Entire project.

Pocket Mouse - The Movie
In 2004, I went along to the Community Arts Workshop with a group of young people that was organised through Connexions. We created a short, 8 minute movie about a young girl called Pocket Mouse who was a singer in a rock band but didn't have much confidence without her 'magical' microphone, Walrus. One day, she drops Walrus into the sewers and has to go on a mad quest to retrieve him... while discovering that she has the strength to do just fine without her microphone :)

Role: Character Design for Pocket Mouse, Voice actor for Pocket Mouse

What Would Hiccup Do?
What Would Hiccup Do? or WWHD for short, is a constant work in progress that focuses entirely on character development and discovery. To start off, we take a character - Hiccup, for example, and catapult her into some obscure situation, then discover her reaction and interaction. I usually doodle the events in a short comic or one panel comic as it is usually quite a funny turn around. This game is quite fun to do in a group of creative people who all have their own personal characters. Unfortunatly, I don't have any images of WWHD yet, but I should be getting some online soon!
